The Ka-Bar fighting knife was designed as a hunting knife in 1898. The knife was relativly but still remained in production until 1942. During World War II the Marines choose the Ka-Bar as the official knife of the Marine Corp. Millions of the Ka-Bar knives were produced World War II. After the war the knife remained in production and was adopted by both the Army and Navy.
